In the upcoming Fixer Upper episode, Chip and Joanna help the punk-rock artist who is the bassist and vocalist of MxPx Mike Herrera and his family to find a place to live in Waco, as well as designing a special room for the studio house.
Mike is the lead singer of punk rock band MxPx who is a Washington native famous for singing and playing bass on the band MxPx, a Christian punk rock band he formed with teen friends in the 90s. He is also an alternative country band vocalist, Tumbledown.
With the title song Woody Guthrie, Tumbledown has a completely different sound from MxPx. Herrera has included Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash as influential members. Mike also became the bassist for another band, Goldfinger, and did as a solo act as well.
Mike and Holli have two little and addorable kids. Their daughter is named Sailor Mae, and their son is Rhodes Wilder. Mike is a loving man. This can be seen from the uploads in instagram. Not only on stage, Mike likes to play music for his children.
Holli Herrera, his Texas wife, Holli, decided to move from Washington State to Waco. According to the description of the HGTV episode, the family moved from Washington to Waco to get closer to the Holli’s family. They are looking for a home with plenty of room for their family and a studio for Mike, but it seems that some problems cause structural issues during the renovation process.
This is a good time to find and create their dream home which at this time will be handled by Chip and Joanna Gaines who are competent in this field. For Mike and Holli, their dream house is an old style house. The desire to settle in a home with family is something that can happen even for the most dedicated members of punk rock. So when Mike and Holli decide to find a suitable place to raise their two children, Holli’s home state seems to be the right choice.
With two children, they want a quiet, safe and comfortable environment for their children, a house with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a play room for children to feel comfortable enough. Holli and Mike both love the old-fashioned house, it becomes a definite consideration. Next according to Mike’s profession, the house will be equipped with music studio and record. Total budgeted cost of $ 300,000.
Chip finally found the house to be a renovation target by Fixer Upper. This old, historic-style house suits what Mike and Holli want. In this renovation, the exterior only has a rough pattern, so it needs a new upgrade including the patio section, front door and vintage-style brick and entrance on. Modifications to the inside of the house seem to be more ambitious and significant, with repainting the walls of the room, open space and the new master suite must be configured.
The highlight of the living room is the impressive library walls and the shelves of the bookshelves, plus a carefully refurbished fireplace with real wood and surround. The tiny kitchen gets total handling with high-contrast visuals including a tall, large-sized closet offset by white subway tiles and added with white rock.
For a musician, the studio becomes an important part of the work, so the garage will be transformed into a modern home-style denvan studio added with accoustic wall accent diffuser created from wooden block pieces. Wooden blocks are cut and shaped with varying depths create a mosaic-like surface that acts as an acoustic diffuser and visually striking, will add to the beauty of this home studio.
